Dr. Gibbs (https://www.kcgpediatricpt.com/) earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She then continued to pursue her passion for pediatrics at the University of Michigan treating children at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.
Dr. Gibbs completed advanced pediatric training through the accredited Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency program at the University of Michigan, after which she earned a Postdoctoral Professional Certificate in Pediatric Physical Therapy and certification as an ABPTS Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Dr. Gibbs has contributed to the advancement of pediatric physical therapy with peer reviewed publications in national journals, presentations at national conferences, publication of educational material for professionals, as a subject matter expert for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists, a member of the Specialization Academy of Content Experts for Pediatric Physical Therapy and as a member and current Chair of the ABPTS Pediatric Specialty Council.
Dr. Gibbs has contributed to the creation, revalidation, and standard setting of the Pediatric Specialist examination since 2019, and to the National Physical Therapy licensure exam through service to FSBPT since 2018. In addition to pediatric pelvic health treatment services,
Dr. Gibbs provides professional mentoring to physical therapists to advance their practice in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction in pediatrics. Dr. Gibbs maintains an exclusively virtual private practice providing services to across the country as well as her current role within the Division of Colorectal Surgery and Pelvic Reconstruction at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.
